  4. 'Level 42' is the debut album released by the band Level 42 in August on the Polydor Record Label. Produced by Mike Vernon and recorded at the Vineyard and Chipping Norton Recording Studios the album is best known for the single 'Love Games', which became a successful jazz-funk and dance floor hit while also reaching number 38 in the UK Singles Charts.

"Level 42" (8 tracks; 47 min.) starts off with one of their earliest memorable tunes (it might have been a single too, I don't remember), the upbeat "Turn It One", which immediately grabs your attention and sounds great. After that, the album goes more into slightly off-left center songs/5(53).
  6. Excellent debut album by Level 42, which was then a real jazzfunk band. The later stuff as a synthi-popgroup didn't do it for me. But this has some original and really funky stuff on it and is still enjoyable to listen to 30 years later. Favorite tracks: Almost There and Love Games.
