  1. Dec 18,  · Here they are out with a new album by a duo called Hi-Fi Companions, which is Merv Pepler, known as Eat Static, and Steve Joliffe, who has worked with Tangerine Dream. Steve is a very experienced musician who has made music since the 70’s, and has now surprisingly made an album with Merv who is more into the modern sound of electronic music/5(47).

Steve had even been a formative member of supertramp and over the years had developed his own production of modern music, having seen eat static and met merv in the studio he realised the similarity in tastes they have today and this connection formed the hi-fi companions and paved the way for the album, 'swingers in paradise'.
